Data Deletion & GDPR Request
Updated: 10 March 2026
How to Request Removal
Logged-in users can use the form above for the fastest path. You can also email [email protected] with subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:
- Your full name.
- The email address associated with your account.
- Whether you want full account deletion or removal of specific content.
What Happens After You Request
- Your request enters a 30-day review queue. We verify account ownership and check for any legal obligations before proceeding.
- Your profile information (name, email, phone, photo) is anonymised in our primary database after approval.
- Your uploaded photos and files are removed from cloud storage.
- Active sessions are revoked immediately upon processing.
Security audit logs (logins, navigation lookup, phone reveal, place activity) are stored in a separate tamper-resistant system and are never erased as part of an account deletion request. Each log entry captures the original email address, IP address, and timestamp at the time of the action. These records are retained for a minimum of 1 year for safety, security, and legal compliance regardless of your account status.
Legal Hold — When Deletion May Be Blocked
If your account is subject to a legal hold (court order, law-enforcement preservation request, or active investigation), all deletion and anonymisation is automatically blocked until the hold is lifted. You will receive an error if you attempt to delete while a hold is active. We may be legally prohibited from disclosing the existence or nature of the hold.
This is consistent with your rights under GDPR Art. 17(3)(b), India DPDP Act 2023 §8(7)(c), CCPA §1798.105(d)(9), LGPD (Brazil), PDPA (Thailand), and the Australian Privacy Act.
Exporting Your Data First
Before requesting deletion, you can request a full JSON export of your profile, places, and activity. Email [email protected] with subject "Data Export Request" and we will deliver it securely before processing any deletion.
